Our mission: Hardy Girls takes girls seriously and puts the power in their hands to challenge a society that ignores their brilliance. We dare adult allies to join us in standing with girls.
Our vision: Girls cause a ruckus.
We work to achieve our mission through direct programming and training for adult allies. Programs include Adventure Girls (2nd-6th grade), Girls Coalition Groups (5th-8th grade), Girls Advisory Board (high school), Girls Rock! Conferences (4th-8th grade), Girls Rock! Awards (nominees must be 9-19), and Girls Workshops (all ages). The content of the programs varies but all programs are based on research in Hardiness Theory and the approach is to value the experiences of girls and support them as they work to notice and change things about their community that they find unjust. Hardy Girls offers trainings to adults on our approach to working with girls. Teachers, school counselors, parents, and camp counselors have all benefited from training on the strategies that we use to bring the best out of each girl.
Inclusivity Statement: Interested participants who self-identify as female are welcome to apply to our programs. This includes participants who were not assigned to the female sex at birth, but live and identify as female now. It also includes participants who are legally assigned to the female sex, but who identify as transgender or gender fluid.
